When not with water, Venice is literarily flooded with tourists. Especially on occasion of the two most important historical events taking place in town: the Regata Storica (Historical Regatta) and the Festa del Redentore.

The Regata Storica is held on the first Sunday of September, and it lasts most of the afternoon, with its quite complex program. For those who aren’t real Venetians, the views of the Grand Canal, of the historical boats, of the costumes can be more interesting than the results of the races. And between one regatta and the next, between one parade and the next, having at one’s disposal a full (wonderful) apartment, couches, chairs, a bathroom, refreshments and a buffet will result priceless. The Festa del Redentore is an unmissable appointment for the Venetians. It is celebrated every third Saturday in July, everyone with his own boat will flock somewhere in front of San Marco, factually linking it with San Giorgio Maggiore, so to better view the fireworks which will light up the town, and will start directly from the water. The lucky ones with a boat big enough or an apartment with windows overlooking the right spot will meet with friends to dine together in this summer night, when any public spot with view over the San Marco basin will be overcrowded. The chance to be able to watch the fireworks from the same apartment where you can dine and, on request, stay overnight, is therefore quite unique.
